Winter Maternity Session in Canmore, Alberta

Winter in Canmore is so beautiful! It is surrounded of snow covered vistas, quiet days and opportunities to play, all of the time! We have had a particularly lovely year of snow covered tree tops that makes everything look magical. The big storm at Christmas this year made for a particular winter wonderland. When Liza and Steve and I started scheeming their maternity session, I was pretty excited to get to play around in our frozen outdoor playground. If you know Liza and Steve, you'll know that these are two full of energy, fun, and up for any adventure! When I suggested our local icy canyon, they both jumped on the idea. It is such a unique photo location in Canmore!

After a reschedule due to weather, we ended up with a mild day. And, despite a fresh layer of snow covering up the ice underfoot, (which actually made it easier to move around on) we had the carved walls of the canyon to play in. Canmore has a few amazing photo locations that can show off our textured, tall peaks. But, we also have locations with unique rock formations and interesting approaches. These adventure require a bit more work to get to, but the pay off is immense. What are your thoughts? Would you put a little more time in to get to this beautiful spot?
